Joaquin Casares graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film. He is also an alumni of the New Media Initiative: ACTLab Program and The Advanced Digital Media Institute: The Division of Instructional Innovation.

In 2011 Joaquin began his career as a Software Engineer within the Big Data space. He learned many aspects of the Software Engineering world as he worked up from Support Engineer to Software Engineer in Test and ultimately to Senior Software Engineer. His software engineering career was mainly focused on large scale database scaling solutions for Apache Cassandra for clients like Netflix, T-Mobile, and Adobe and most recently a cryptocurrency-backed music player built upon blockchain technologies.

His first legal animation was in 2007 in his hometown of Eagle Pass, Texas. Since then he has continued to create legal animations as he crafts his skills with new releases, methods, and plugins to well-tested technologies. In 2023, Legal Animation Consulting became a full time venture.
